Grand Rapids Comedy Club has Hilarious Sold Out Opening Weekend
Laughs filled the room for multiple sold-out shows last weekend for tenured comedian and Workaholics star Erik Griffin.
After the closure of the longtime Grand Rapids Comedy Club, Dr. Grins, a void was left for a space for national touring acts to play club-sized rooms in West Michigan. Cue the Grand Rapids Comedy Club.
Erik Griffin was on fire that opening night at the Grand Rapids Comedy Club, located in the Golden Age Room above Creston Brewery, but more about him later.
I'm aware that it's terrible show etiquette but, my friends and I showed up around 7:25ish, around start time on Friday night. As we climbed the stairs heading up the Golden Age room you could feel the excitement in the air. The room was so packed with people that the ushers had to find extra chairs to sit us late arrivers.
The night I went was M.C.'d by local comedian Hunter Miles. Night two was M.C.'d by another local comedian Donte Lillard. Both of who I've seen perform around West Michigan and they are hilarious.
The featuring local Grand Rapids Comic who opened the entire weekend was Justin Chupp. Justin brought the funny with his dry wit and impeccable timing.
Erik Griffin immediately had a great connection with the audience. He had them laughing from start to finish and left the audience wanting more. Find upcoming dates for the Grand Rapids Comedy Club here.
