It's been a long time coming, but several Grand Rapids City Parks will be getting a make over, and residents couldn't be happier.

Our news partner, WZZM TV13 says that over the next couple of months, Cherry Park, Fuller Park, Garfield Park, Highland Park, Lincoln Park, Roosevelt Park, Westown Commons and Wilcox Park will all get significant improvements. How is the city able to do this? Funding for the work is coming from the 2013 Park Millage voters passed. Parks and Recreation Director David Marquardt says the millage brings in approximately $4,000,000 in dedicated funding for park improvements each year. The city's hoping that communities will rekindle a sense of pride in their neighborhood parks as the improvements are made. Better neighborhood parks will certainly lead to better  economic conditions here in the city with more people wanting to come live and work here.
