Amazing! This is the Oldest Restaurant in Grand Rapids!
The restaurant business is a tough business. New spots are opening all the time, but so many favorites have closed for many different reasons with the economy being the main reason.
There are several that have weathered the ups and downs and survived that we all still love to go to.
There is one, however, that quietly has stood tall and the test of time, surviving while some others have faded away. This special little place, one of my go to favorites, just keeps perking along and attracting patrons from all over. Yet, being discovered for the first time by many locals.
The Cherie Inn is 101 years old, and, fortunately isn't going anywhere.
The Cherie Inn is on Cherry Street, in the block where Cherry and Lake Drive come together. And, they are open Wednesday through Sunday between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Maybe that is how Michael Kulczyk, owner for the past 28 of those 100 years, does it. He keeps it simple and not trying to over do, but by that he is able to always keep the quality and service top notch.
For brunch and lunch, it really is a cool place to go. It's simple but welcoming inside, almost I would say French Cafe like. The staff is super, never missing a beat. And, you always feel as if you are a part of the family, not just a number.
You'll always find fresh flowers on the table, and along with their killer Eggs Benedict, in many different forms, the Cherie Inn never misses a beat. It truly is a place to enjoy yourself, relax and have some wonderful food.
Happy 101 Cherie Inn. Keep it going!
