What do you get when you combine tree planting with beer and a movie?

A good time.

Grand Rapids is Beer City USA. This Thursday's tree planting celebration is a reminder of why.

The Tree Beer Collaboration brings together Grand Rapids breweries and Friends of Grand Rapids Parks to create and dedicate Brewers' Grove at Riverside Park.

Together breweries in Grand Rapids raised $8,000 to plant trees at Brewers' Grove. That's enough money to plant 80 trees.  30 of those trees will be planted this Thursday.

The Tree Beer Collaboration dedication ceremony will take place at the north end of Riverside Park by the baseball diamond.

"The Michigan Beer Film" will be shown at dusk.  See a preview below.

Beer will not be served, but attendees are welcome to bring their own thanks to special permission from the City.

  • 4:00pm - volunteers arrive
  • 5:30pm - public welcome
  • 7:00pm - Brewers' Grove dedication ceremony
  • Dusk - movie shown
