There is a special place in my heart for tacos, and I know I'm not the only one. We dedicate one (or two) days a week to them. We eat them for multiple holidays. And when you're out and about late at night in the warmer months, you can always rely on a trusty taco truck to save you from late night hunger.

West Michigan has its fair share of amazing spots to get a taco, but there is one locally run restaurant that really knocks it out of the park when it comes to breakfast tacos, and that's Basalt on Wealthy Street.

Steven Martinez and his team at Basalt have MASTERED bringing color and flavor to the most important meal of the day. If you haven't had their tacos or what may be arguably the greatest breakfast sandwich ever made, The Heights, you're honestly depriving yourself.

Now that they've conquered breakfast, it's time to take on dinner. Starting on March 31st, Basalt is expanding and changing their menu to add a dinner service.

Their new hours will be 7:30am - 2pm Monday through Wednesday, 7:30am - 9pm Thursday through Saturday, and 7:30am - 4pm on Sundays.

And the new menu? It's worth drooling over.

Some of the new additions to their already stacked breakfast menu include the "not a McGriddle" breakfast sandwich that will be available only on the weekend. It takes their mouth watering horchata french toast and turns it into a decadent dream sandwich. They're also adding a few new sandwiches and tacos as well.

They're also featuring several new tacos on their dinner menu that will make you want to come back later in the day to chow down. They've also added several savory sandwiches and quesadillas, and the new desserts sound like a treat.
