Grand Rapids Acrisure Amphitheater Is Going to be Spectacular
I think most of us can say we are very excited about the new Acrisure Amphitheater under construction now in downtown Grand Rapids.
Construction on the Acrisure Amphitheater in downtown Grand Rapids is actively underway, with completion anticipated in May of next year, 2026.
Fox17 said that "when finished, it will shelter about 75 percent of the seating area."
The amphitheater will hold 12,000 or more fans for all kinds of entertainment and shows.
Fox17 also reported that "Legends/AMS Global, the venue manager, will continue to be the food and beverage operator for both the Amphitheater and Amway Soccer Stadium. They have been operating those services at both Van Andel Arena and DeVos Place since 1994."

It has been a long time coming. Remember when Grand Rapids determined it would move its fleet of municipal vehicles from 201 Market Avenue site back in 2017?
A lot of ideas surfaced including a possible senior living community and a soccer stadium. City planners approved a plan for apartment high rises for families of different incomes. A possible grocery store, a luxury hotel and a plaza were also considered but all were dropped in 2020 because developers couldn't get tax incentives.
Then in 2021, a proposal from the Grand Action 2.0 group, brought the amphitheater idea forward. After insurance broker Acrisure was given naming rights following their gift of $30 million towards, it moved forward and never looked back.
