GR Symphony Cancels All Their Concerts Through July 31st
The Grand Rapids Symphony has made the difficult decision, based on the guidance they've received from both state and federal officials, to cancel all concerts they had planned scheduled around West Michigan through July 31st.
This includes the 2020 D&W Fresh Market Picnic Pops which happens at Cannonsburg Ski Area along with the Patriotic Pops concert they had been planning for July 14th at Ah-Nab-Awen Park.
Not all hope is lost though on summer concerts with the Grand Rapids Symphony, as they are planning to do concerts in August, but as their press release stated, they’re still trying to figure out the logistics for the performances. They say they’ll be formatting the shows based on the COVID-19 guidance at the time, with public health and safety a top priority.
“Our highest priority has been to ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of every member of the Grand Rapids Symphony family and Western Michigan community,” said Grand Rapids Symphony President and CEO Mary Tuuk. “While our currently planned July concerts are canceled, we are thrilled to be able to give the gift of music back to the Western Michigan community in August in innovative ways.”
