The Great Lakes area is our favorite spot to land, right? We live here so hopefully we like it. But seriously, the beauty, fabulous four seasons, that includes you, winter, great vacation locations, wonderful beaches, and of course plentiful lakes including the big ones. We have it all.

We hear the term "Midwest Nice," all the time. Living here it's pretty normal to us, but to our visitors it may be a revelation.

So, where is the Midwest Nice? All over the state, and especially in the cities rated as the friendliest cities in Michigan.

World Atlas.com went looking and found a bunch of friendly cities, and rates these as the top three.

In the Royal Oak/Troy area of suburban Detroit, Clawson ranks high in friendliest according to World Atlas.com.

"Smiling faces and helpful locals are always visible so you will never feel down in this town. If you’re up for some interesting conversations, head over to some of the town’s delicious eateries."

OKEMOS

A suburb of Lansing, the survey says:

"Okemos is a tranquil town in Ingham County full of friendly people. Home to more than 25,000 residents, there are plenty of interesting people to meet, each with their own story to tell. As you speak to the locals, you’ll come to learn of the town’s array of attractions that suit all kinds of travelers."

NORTHVILLE

Another suburb of Detroit, they say:

"Northville, a town full of quaint streets and picturesque parks, is one of the most welcoming communities in the state. 30 miles from Detroit, this town is a reprieve of good vibes, palpable through the quaint streets, lively downtown, and family environment. If you’re here to have fun, downtown Northville is a must visit."

Traverse City got a big nod to being a friendliest and great place to visit, too.

Even though other places in West Michigan didn't rank in this report, I'd have to say we are pretty darned friendly and welcoming here to everyone.

Take a bow!
