First Exciting Concert Announced at the Acrisure Amphitheater

We all have been anxiously waiting to see who will help open the exciting new Acrisure Amphitheater when it is due to be completed next spring in downtown Grand Rapids. Now we know!

Fox17 reported that the concert promises to be the first of many hosted at Acrisure Amphitheater, a $184 million dollar project to bring a riverfront venue to downtown Grand Rapids. Work on the site has been on-going since 2024.

The amphitheater received $27.5 million in public funding from the city plus Kent County passed an increase to the tax on hotel rooms, some of that money will go to the amphitheater and the under-construction soccer stadium.

So, drum roll please.....ASM Global/Grand Rapids just announced that Russell Dickerson is the first announced show for the Acrisure Amphitheater open-air-space in 2026.

Dickerson is being promoted as the first "announced" act, so if they are being cagy as to whether he officially opens the amphitheater or not, we don't know. There may be more to come about the opening.

Regardless if Dickerson is the opening performer or not, he is a Multi-Platinum chart-topper and entertainer, and will bring his RUSSELLMANIA Tour 2026 to Grand Rapids on Saturday, May 30!

Russell Dickerson killed it with last year’s sold-out tour, and Dickerson is going to make it bigger than ever with his “high-octane” live show with special guest Niko Moon.

ASM Global said in their news release:

"Dickerson has an exciting new album, FAMOUS BACK HOME, along with his hit single “Happen To Me” that was certified RIAA PLATINUM. He has hit the top 5 on Country Radio, made it on the Billboard Hot 100—while also landing in the Top 25 on Hot AC and earning a position on the Top 40 chart."

Tickets will go on sale to the public on this Friday, September 12 at 10:00AM at AcrisureAmphitheater.com.
