As we move past winter and towards summer, fire danger is a growing concern in Michigan.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources issues a daily report rating the risk of fire danger across Michigan.

On April 10, the fire danger rating map showed most of Lower Michigan with "high" or "very high" risk levels.

Traverse City and areas just to the south were lower with ratings of "moderate" or "low".

The fire danger rating considers wind, rain, temperature, humidity, and more. The maps and reports are updated daily at 2:00pm.
