A “Family Guy” Style Battle Of The Burbs Is Brewing In Wyoming

I've heard sayings like "Detroit versus Everyone". "Detroit against the World". "What's wrong with Detroit? What's wrong with you"? The hard-nosed Detroiters have a way of puffing up their chests. Are the rascals in Wyoming feeling the same way?

Wyoming versus all of the other West Michigan burbs? A Grand Rapids Redditt user posted these memes and the battle began.

The pot-stirrer has received loads of comments.

ThisMeanWarm said,

"Lived in both, went to public school in both, life was good in both. Met wonderful friends in both. That said, accurate meme is accurate."

ThatIdiotFromMI commented,

"You have the finest empty strip malls with the largest selection of dollar stores, salon and beauty supply stores."

Sea_Dimension9966 offered some nicknames for the burbs,

"I love claiming I live in the Wyo! But I gotta hit my peeps from Jtown with the Grandville Schools* disclaimer."

A few people disagreed with the premise that Meg from Family Guy would represent Wyoming. Sammichjuice offered,

"Nah, Jenison is Meg."

Brian the Dog from Family Guy was completely left out of the original memes. HereBeRabbitt suggested that Brian was Wayland but JingleMeAllTheWAy countered,

"I'm thinking Brian is Eastown or Allendale."

A few people were unhappy that another Grand Rapids suburb trashing thread was in the works. Why does everyone like to pick on Wyoming?

RoadDawg616 tried to explain,

"My Drunk History version of how Wyoming got such a weird shape is that basically all the surrounding municipalities had a fight:
"I don't want that piece of land, you take it."
"No, I don't want that either, you take it."
So they took all the bits that nobody wanted and slapped 'em together and called it The City Of Wyoming (est. 1959)."
