As we slowly leave summer behind and approach fall, I'm sure we're all asking when will the leaves change and Michigan become a beautiful Pure Michigan Wonderland of fall color?

The website My Michigan Beach says it appears that the Michigan Fall Color Season might kick-off a bit early this year, thanks to warm days and rainy weather predicted by the esteemed Farmer’s Almanac. Their predictions for Michigan’s 2023 hard winter and wet spring were right on track, so it makes me hope their train is still on the tracks.

It's always a little sad to see summer in the rearview mirror, but one of the best things about Michigan is there is always a different, fresh season to look forward to and enjoy.

With the warm weather we have had it also means a more vibrant colors for Michigan leaves, bright golds and oranges, combined with deep reds. That is my kind of fall!

So why do we like fall so much? Well football for one thing, high school and college. But also we can slowly say goodbye to steamy and muggy days of July and August and welcome in the cool, brisk air and bright sunshine of fall.

There are the pumpkin patches, local farms, fresh apple cider, corn mazes.

Of course you can't forget color tours. Whether just a sort local drive or a longer drive to some of the most dramatic spots in Northern Michigan, there's nothing like it.
