Ex-Mi Surgeon Films Himself Drugging & Sexually Assaulting Escort

A former plastic surgeon who filmed himself drugging and sexually assaulting an escort has now been sentenced to prison.

This sounds like a story you would see on crime television or even a movie, but this happened to not just one woman, but several.

According to MLive, former plastic surgeon Manish Gupta, of Sylvania, Ohio, pleaded guilty to federal charges of sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion and illegally distributed a controlled substance.

Gupta was accused of videotaping himself sexually assaulting a woman that he drugged back in 2016 in Los Angeles while attending a medical conference. As of Monday, November 15, Gupta was sentenced to twenty years in prison.

The 50-year-old surgeon had pre-planned the assault by shipping medical supplies to the hotel he was staying at for a medical conference in California. The drug he shipped was used to rape and video a sexual encounter with the victim.

When investigators searched Gupta's home they found a plethora of videos of him sexually assaulting at least 20 different women. Investigators had sifted through 60 videos Gupta had made for his previous encounters.

Since Gupta was targeting escorts, only one of the women came forward to publicly accuse him of these acts. The other escorts feared their own prosecution and did not speak up.

Gupta had previously spent a lot of time in the state of Michigan. He operated a clinic at one time in Taylor, Michigan. It was also reported by MLive that Gupta had operated several clinics in different cities in Ohio.

Federal authorities arrested Gupta in March of 2020 and he was sentenced to 20 years in an Ohio court Monday, November 15.
