It's looking like it might be a sweltering stay at home summer. So why not rent a pool and cool off?

Yup, There's An App For Renting Pools

The app and web site is called Swimply. It's like an AirBandB for renting pools.

You simply open the app, punch in your zip code or city and you'll be shown several different pool rental options. The next thing you know, you're floating in a cool pool on a hot day.

The host will indicate times and dates the pool is available, how much per hour to pay, and how many guests you're allowed to bring with you (I've seen pools allowing you to bring as many as 50 people!!!). Rates vary depending on location and demand.

So let's take a look at some pools open right now for renting in Grand Rapids.

Let's Start In The Wonderful 49534 (Walker)

This is one of the pools that won't open for rental until June, but it's pretty swanky looking (I just love saying swanky), plus it has a spacious changing area for all of your 50 allowed guests. It starts at $80 an hour.

This one's also one of the most affordable at $30 per hour, and you can bring 12 guests with you.

As of now, the GR area pool supply is kind of low, but as summer heats up, there may be some more offerings.

I've posed this question to a couple of the renters, but have to yet to receive an answer: What happens if I book for July 22, and it turns out to be blazing hot, do the owners get to swim while we're there? Because I would feel bad for them, unless the AC is cranking.
