Debunking Old Myths
My Grandmother always told me that I had to eat the crust, the crust of bread that every kid throws away since we think it's yucky, because if I didn't I wouldn't be able to whistle.
Okay, I was young...and gullible...and I believed her. I ate it and soon I could whistle. Who's to say that I wouldn't be the whistler I am today without eating that crust.
At any rate, there are so many 'old-wives' tales or myths out there. I'm sure you have yours, but here are some I've run across that deserve DEBUNKING!
I didn't know that.....
- Body hair grows back thicker when you shave it.
- Reading in dim light ruins your eyes.
- Peeing on a jelly fish sting will soothe the pain.
- Calorie-counting is all that matters for weight management.
- Everyone needs 8 hours of sleep per day.
- You can catch a cold from cold and/or wet weather.
- More heat escapes through your head that other uncovered parts of your body.
- It's dangerous to wake a sleepwalker.
WRONG - WRONG- and, WRONG! Scientists say to all of these...phooey!
Consider them....DEBUNKED!
