Dave & Busters in Kentwood Reopening this Friday
One of my favorite things to do is go to an arcade and I would make it a point to go to Dave and Busters at least once a month so when the pandemic hit and shut everything down, that was one of the things that was hard to lose. Since D&B is considered an "entertainment venue" it has remained closed this entire time, but then I received an e-mail over the weekend with some exciting news!
Dave & Busters in Kentwood says they are reopening this Friday at 4 p.m. There's obviously going to be changes to keep employees and patrons safe. Employees will be health screened before starting their shift and will be required to wear masks and gloves. Guests will also have to wear masks and gloves will be provided for those who wish to wear them while playing games.
D&B says they will also temporarily suspend some games, it's unknown which ones but I really hope it's not the Connect 4 basketball or any of my favorite shooting games. They've also removed some tables to separate guests and encourage social distancing. Sanitization stations will also be set up throughout the store.
If you are a health care worker, first responder, or military member you will also get hooked up with a $10 game card when you show a valid ID. The offer will be good for the first 30 days of reopening. In the words of the company,
...even superheroes need to let loose.
Dave & Busters is located at 3660 28th St. SE in Kentwood.
Last month, the company announced they were letting go of 81 of their employees at their Kentwood location go so hopefully once things bounce back financially for them they'll be able to rehire some of those that lost their jobs.
