I'll have to admit I have never heard of Cryophobia, but it seems to be a topic to talk about today.

At first glance it obviously appears to be a fear of something, so I would guess a fear of crying. We know a lot of people who keep emotions to them selves, remain uptight and don't cry. Is that Cryophobia?

Surprisingly, no, it is not a fear of crying.

So what is Cryophobia?

That phobia may be creeping up on you as you read this and as winter approaches. Hey, you didn't even know you had it.

According to Psychtimes.com...

"Cryophobia is the irrational fear of extreme cold, ice, or frost. Someone suffering from this condition can expect to endure a high amount of anxiety when merely thinking of extreme cold, let alone actually experiencing it."

This is a malady that very often is undiagnosed, so if you are beginning to suffer from a dread of winter, snow, ice and the like, you possibly have CRYOPHOBIA!

I may sound like a doctor here, but do you fear stepping outside in winter time? Do you suffer a rapids heartbeat, shortness of breath, and have an unreasonable desire to move to Florida?

Guess what? You may have Cryophobia!

Seriously folks, Cryophobia is a big problem for some Michiganders, and should be properly treated. Snow birding to Florida is not the answer because you are just avoiding the issue.

Honestly, do you think you might need help?

No one really knows the cause, and exactly how to treat Cryophobia, but Psychtimes.com has some good advice and suggestions. So stop shaking and get with the program!
