When it comes to Katie Courtic, it's all over but the shouting.   It is said that Couric will make official what others have rumored for months;  she's leaving CBS Evening News to pursue other opportunities.  Someone in the know reportedly told EW Katie will confirm plans this week  to leave CBS.  Couric's contract is up in June. What will not be disclosed, however, is her post CBS plans.  Rumors are rampant that she will host her own talk show, with or without former Today show partner Matt Lauer, who has already indicated he'll leave the Today Show when his contract expires in 2012.

In the meantime, the source also told EW that CBS will likely announce Couric's successor next week, or before its annual upfront presentation to advertisers in New York. It seems likely that "60 Minutes" correspondent Scott Pelley is the frontrunner, though CBS's Harry Smith and Russ Mitchell have also been mentioned as possible successors.
