Costco Checkout Tricks That Will Save a Lot of Time
Millions of people shop at Costco every week. This past Sunday I swear they were all at the Cascade Costco on 28th Street, SE. Holy cow, I have never seen the lot so full with barely a parking spot to be found.
Susie and I wanted to run in for a quick stop getting just a few things. Bad idea! What were we thinking?

I'm sure the checkout lines were packed with some people still trying to check out today.
That is why these checkout tricks from Readers Digest.com can save you a lot of time. They are very simple and very helpful, Costco experts say.
First, make sure the bar codes for all items in your cart are facing up. Don't just toss things in. And when you put the items on the conveyer belt at checkout make sure they are up as well.
Second, make sure your Costco card is ready. No searching for it when checking out. That really slows everything down.
Third, make sure you are using a debit or credit card to pay. Don't try using cash or check. Boy, does that slow everything down.
Fourth, stay clear of the cart unloader and reloader. They and the clerk are there to help and you'll only slow them down, which you seriously don't want to do.
Finally, you can forget the Costco Self-checkout lanes. They have been, or will be, removed. Talk about slowing things down. They realized that having the trained employees check you out was best.
Happy shopping!
