Costco is changing things up again for members.

It's always great to be a member at Costco and save on so many thing your family always needs, or maybe doesn't! I guess it's a euphoric feeling when you're able to buy four jars of mustard at once. Really?

Seriously, there are some good cost savings when you are a member shopping at Costco. Ah, but there is the rub. Are you a member, truly?

MSN.com reported that Costco is cracking down on card sharing, just as Netflix has been doing with their memberships. Now, you are going to have to prove you are you, the member, and not using someone else's card.

Remember a few week ago I wrote about Costco cracking down at the self-scan checkouts by having to show ID to be able to use them.

Now, you will have to prove you are the card holder before you enter the store.

Always before you just showed your card casually to the door attendant and in you rolled.

But not any more. Costco will have you scan your card when you enter which will allegedly link them to photo IDs. Such IDs have already started to be checked by employees at registers, both regular ones and in self-checkout lines. That will also eliminate, theoretically, the new policy of checking IDs at checkout, CNN reported.

The MSN.com article asks will this be a permanent policy for all Costco stores or is this just a pilot program? It's not clear for now, but with so many people skating through a Costco store without paying a membership fee, it makes sense to protect members.

Come on guys, Costco says it's only $60 a year for a regular membership and you get two cards with that for someone else in your household.
