This is one of the most heart-warming stories I've heard.  And, "Warming" is the key word here.

The Michigan Women's Foundation's, 25th anniversary celebration is honoring a woman who works to keep the homeless warm.

Veronika Scott is just 22 years-of-age, and she has turned a college project into a career.  She's building jackets that heat the homeless through the night.

The jackets/coats that Scott produces collects body heat as you wear it during the day.  Then at night, the jacket can be unzipped, and turned into a sleeping bag they wrap themselves into-- keeping them warm.

Scott said she thought her jacket would be just a classroom project, but as people heard about it interest increased to where several companies jumped on board to support and help expand the project.   Locally, Steelcase donated 6,000 yards of fabric for the jacket's lining.

That is just the beginning of the story.  Scott's business 'The Empowerment Plan' took off, and
now she employs several homeless mothers who can now provide for themselves and their children.

Thus far, 250 jackets have been given away, mostly in the Detroit area, but it's only the beginning!
