Grand Rapids Civic Theatre, one of the top local, amateur theatre company's in the US, has had, and continues to present, a fabulous season of musicals and plays. Far from over, the current season continues with Sister Act, opening this Friday night for a months run. As they finish out the 2015-16 season with Freckle Face Strawberry, for the kids, Caroline or Change opening in June, and the School of Theatre Arts, Summer Repertory performances of Into the Wods, Jr. and Sideways Stories from Wayside School, they are already planning for next season.

If there were one word to describe the 2016/2017 season, it would be colossal. Civic Theatre is preparing to bring three powerhouse musicals to life. Big sets, big casts, big costumes all equal big fun.

Not to be out done is a line-up of compelling stage plays showcasing new work, Good People, fresh off Broadway, and a 1940 classic, The Philadelphia Story, neither of which have graced the civic stage before now. Family favorites bring popular children’s books pages to life and illustrate the level of incredibly talented youth in our community.

Ticket Packages for the 2016/2017 Season are on sale beginning February 26th and can be purchased at that time, on-line at ww.grct.org or in person at the theatre box office.
