Back to school is so exciting. New outfits, new school supplies, and a chance for kids to see all of their friends again in person. But for some kids, the fun of the start of the school year can be more stressful than exciting, due to financial insecurity or the uncertainty of starting a new school.

That's where Catholic Charities of West Michigan is stepping up to take some of the struggle out of the struggle bus of the first day of school by helping Foster Parents and Foster Children.

On Saturday, August 13th from 1pm to 4pm Catholic Charities of West Michigan is hosting their Confident Kids event, bringing some fun and relief to foster families of West Michigan.

The event will feature tons of local vendors and businesses offering help to get foster kids ready for their first day of school. They will feature hairstyling, barbering, and braiding services from over 30 local hair professionals. They will also have Backpacks and other school supplies for students, and they will have shoes available from Soles4Soles.

They'll also have some great food selections for those who come out to the event. Chick-fil-A gift cards, snow cones from Kona Ice, popcorn, and cotton candy will also be available to guests who stop by, while supplies last.
