By now, you have surly heard or seen the story from ABC News, of the woman who recently visited the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., and was coaxed into singing the Star Spangled Banner. In case you missed it, I thought it only appropriate to re-visit that moment on this 4th of July.

Here's something cute, and maybe inspirational for you and the kids and grandkids. It's Pharrell Williams, who took a recent trip down to Sesame Street to teach Elmo and Cookie Monster that with a book, they can go anywhere and see anything.

In May, Tears for Fears announced that they were postponing their US summer tour dates “due to unforeseen and unhappy circumstances.” The postponements included a show planned for June 6 at Frederik Meijer Gardens. That show has now been rescheduled for September 26.

It's been a rough week of bad news and unsettled weather. Now that the sun is back for the weekend, get yourself in the mood with this beautiful time lapse video of the north woods.

Artist Emily Lynch Victory was one of five finalists at the fourth annual ArtPrize Pitch Night Minneapolis event, held at the Walker Art Center. She won a $5,000 cash grant and a guaranteed spot on the seventh floor at 200 Ottawa in Grand Rapids during ArtPrize Eight.

Hermina Hirsch had but one wish on her bucket list: to sing our National Anthem at Comerica Park in Detroit prior to a Detroit Tigers game. This weekend, her wish came true.

The Fifth Third Bank Summer Concert Series at Frederik Meijer Gardens sold out 21 of their 30 concerts on the first day. A few more sold out shortly after, but after tickets went on sale for the public on May 14, Meijer Gardens added additional tickets for some sold out shows.

Celebration! Woodland in Grand Rapids will honor Prince by screening his film Purple Rain for an entire week. Prince died on April 21 at the age of 57.

This is a brilliant piece of show biz. James Corden, of The Late Late Show with James Corden, had Tom Hanks on the show and they acted out snippets from Tom's illustrious film career, from Big to the Toy Story movies. You're gonna love this!
