Is The B.O.B. Actually Asking Us to Support ICE?

What's up with the B.O.B and ICE?

Rumors have been circulating that the B.O.B, (Big Old Building) a downtown Grand Rapids entertainment and restaurant mainstay for years, is supporting ICE: Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

It seems some people claim that that they saw a sign at the Eve Nightclub in the B.O.B, urging support for ICE.

Apparently it was seen over the weekend, and needless to say, it has been causing quite a stir and a lot of conversation and worry within the Gilmore Collection team.

It is a problem that Gilmore certainly wanted to face head on. So, after an investigation, they issued this statement.

With so many restaurants, a comedy club and other entertainment venues in the B.O.B, along with the Gilmore Collection's other restaurants throughout Grand Rapids and West Michigan, bad publicity is never a good thing.

They wanted to get in front of this right away and put the fire out before it became a major blaze.

Commenters on the Gilmore Collection Facebook page have been supportive and glad they issued the statement when they did.

Is there a picture or video of the sign? Not that I can find. It would be helpful to find something, if it exists at all. It just may be a total fabrication from someone that took hold.

Let's hope that the community understands that there are some "bad actors" out there who either love playing pranks, or actually do wish harm to a valued business in Grand Rapids.
