Lots of people in the area have been bicycling to work for the last week here in and around Grand Rapids!  I posted about it on The River's website a few weeks ago!  You may have seen a few bikes propped up against an office wall or parked and chained in the front of your office building.  I know I've seen a couple beat up bikes here in the radio station hallway.  One guy bicycles into downtown Grand Rapids from Rockford a couple days a week.  He said it's smooth sailing and trails for most of the way, and he gets his workout in before he even starts work.

Lots of people in the Grand Rapids area want to get together and share their common interest in bicycle riding Friday from 7am-9pm.  and Bike To Work Week.  So a number of activities have been set up by the Greater Grand Rapids Bicycle Coalition.  Mayor Heartwell will even be jumping on his bike and commuting to work to show his support!

Bike Rally Stops will include:

Ada Bike Shop/Fulton Store

Alger Bikes 120 28th St. SW in Wyoming

The new bike shop downtown, Central District Cyclery 52 Monroe Ctr. NW (for breakfast, snacks, and coffee)

Common Ground Coffee 1311 E. Fulton St.

East Hills Center of the Universe at the corner of Lake Dr. & Diamond Ave. in East Hills
