Another Long Standing Grand Rapids Restaurant Announces It’s Closing
Another west side Grand Rapids restaurant is closing after 39 years of business. The owners of Shawmut Inn, on the corner of Collindale and Lake Michigan Dr., posted on their Facebook that August 10th would be their last day of business, the last day to get a wet burrito.
The owners Pam and Ed said the last 39 years were fantastic and from the bottom of their hearts, they thank anyone who’s had a meal at Shawmut Inn. This probably won’t be the last post about the location of Shawmut Inn, as the post ends with news of a new bar/restaurant opening in October at the same location but with different owners.
You can tell by the comments under the post, just how much grabbing a wet burrito at Shawmut's will be missed. One of the comments also mentions the new bar/restaurant will be associated with Peppino's although we could find no "official" confirmation.
Best of luck Pam and Ed!
