“All Aboard!” The Pumpkin Train is About to Depart
It's just about time for the train to leave the station. I mean the annual famous Pumpkin Train of the Coopersville & Marne Railway.
Next weekend, and through October, the famous train rides the rails on Saturdays, September 24th, October 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th and on Sundays September 25th, October 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th. Departure times vary by day and date, so check the web site at www.MiTRAIN.net for details. The friendly Conductor will call “All Aboard” at 20 minutes before each departure.
The Grand Pumpkin and her cast of wacky musical characters will “enterTRAIN” you and your guests during the color-full, 90 minute ride through family owned farms and fields. During the journey, a laugh-filled, musical show will be presented in each decorated train car by the costumed characters. Each railcar is heated and has a restroom. Some of the vintage cars are almost 100 years old. The locomotive is a 1950’s era diesel / electric engine.
At the end of the trip, kids go to the Track-side Pumpkin Patch to pick their very own, locally grown pumpkin.
Ticket prices are $17.50 for adults, $16.50 for Seniors 60+ and $15.50 for kids aged 2-12. Children under 2 years old ride for free and still get a pumpkin. 24 hour online sales are found at www.MItrain.net. Phone orders are taken Monday through Friday from 10:30am until 5pm and 616-997-7000, Ext. 3. Some tickets may be available at the ticket station on the days of departures.
