A Record Setting Movie Weekend

With so much going on this past weekend, it is hard to believe anyone had time to go to the movies. Somebody did. Maybe we are the only ones who didn't go to Celebration Cinema.

"Transformers: Dark Of The Moon" is entering the record books. Deadline.com reports that the film shattered both the three-day and four-day Independence Day weekend records held previously in Canada and the U.S. by "Spider-Man Two." "Dark Of The Moon" raked in about 97-and-a-half million dollars between Friday and Sunday. July Fourth's sales pushed that total up to an estimated 116-point-four-million dollars. "Spider-Man Two" made only 88-point-two-million dollars and 115-point-eight million dollars in the same periods in 2004. Since its debut last week, "Transformers: Dark Of The Moon" has earned an estimated 416-million dollars worldwide.
