Let me start by saying I'm a burger lover, no question.  I've been told One Trick Pony has one of the best burgers in town, although I haven't tried it yet.  My most recent phenomenal burger was at GP Sports inside the Amway Grand; perfectly done, lots of cheese and dripping grease.

But as of late, I can't help but wonder if "pink slime" is part of the beef that I'm eating.  Wait, I guess the euphemism is "Lean Finely Textured Beef" which makes it sound a lot better than "various parts treated with ammonia."

I just noticed that the company who makes "Lean Finely Textured Beef" is suspending operations at 3 of the 4 plants where they make it, because of the financial hit they've taken since the uproar began a few weeks ago.

Employees at the plants being suspended are receiving salary and benefits for 60 days while the company works to "share the truth" about "Lean Finely Textured Beef."

Sometimes ignorance is bliss.  Sometimes information is power.  If you're really concerned about where your food comes from, watch the documentary "Food, Inc." soon.  You'll never look at what's going in your mouth quite the same.
