I have a big THANKS to give out to the West Michigan Tourist Association.  They really do an amazingt job promoting West Michigan, and keeping all of us up-to-date on all the fun things happening throughout the seasons.

One of the big celebrations is the 4th of July, and here is an update of fireworks and cool places and things to do.
If you are headed up north this Fourth of July, head to Crystal Mountain for a festive family fun event. The Old Fashioned Fourth of July includes a family carnival, fireworks over the mountain, golf scrambles, a tubing trip, campfires, and much more. Stay on site at the lodging properties or maybe try camping at a local campsite.
Another large family fun event will take place at the Double JJ Resort in Rothbury. Events include a parade, stunt shows, barrel train, hayrides, and of course the beloved pig roast and rodeo. Double JJ has great lodging packages available to ensure the whole family can enjoy a weekend away with out straining the pocketbook too much.

In Muskegon, Michigan's Adventure will be paying tribute to our service men and women on July 3 - 4 by offering military personnel of the Armed Forces, National Guard and Reserve a free admission. In addition, military personnel may purchase up to six additional tickets for immediate family members at $21 each.

Guests will be required to show one active military ID, DD-214, or Veteran's Administration Hospital ID to qualify for the discount. Tickets purchased for this event are non-refundable and are valid for admission on one of the listed dates only. Tickets must be purchased at the park on the day of your visit.

Rounding out the events, Grand Rapids will be hosting quite a bash this year with the Ah-Nab-Awen Park concert series. Live music starts at 6:15 p.m. on July 4 and will play all the way until dusk. Featuring five local artists, this event will be family friendly and a great way to see the fireworks over the Grand River. The Grand Rapids Public Museum will also once again be offering its Front Row for the Fireworks Event. You can grab your tickets at grmuseum.org.
