Anyone may fish for free in Michigan Feb. 14 and 15 for the state's annual Winter Free Fishing Weekend.

No state fishing license is required.

Residents and non-residents can fish Michigan waters without a license that Saturday and Sunday. All other fishing regulations still apply.

Michigan has celebrated the Winter Free Fishing Weekend every year since 1994. With more than 3,000 miles of Great Lakes shoreline, tens of thousands of miles of rivers and streams, and 11,000 inland lakes, Michigan offers endless opportunities to enjoy fishing.

"The Winter Free Fishing Weekend is an easy, low-commitment way for anglers of all experience and skill levels to explore and enjoy Michigan's world-class natural resources," Michigan Department of Natural Resources Director Keith Creagh said.

Dress warm and have some fun February 14 and 15!
