Laughfest wraps up this weekend. It is also St. Patrick’s Day on Saturday. There is hockey and basketball, fishing and boating. On stage it’s Peter and the Wolf, Pink and more! Plus a free day at the museum.

Some activities include the kids, while others are more for the adults.

    There are various events throughout the Grand Rapids area running through Sunday March 18th.  There are a lot of different events schedule for this weekend like the National Stand-Up Comedy Showcase, the Dirty Show, Cameron Esposito, Bert Kreischer, Rik Roberts, River City Improv, Anjelah Johnson, People and Pets, Sunday Night Funnies and Tiffany Haddish. The features are famous: World Class Taxidermy, Antique Lures, Trout Pond, Hawg Trough, Woodcarvers, Fishing Simulator and a Rock Wall. Nearly 100 fishing and hunting seminars will be held on 5 stages, including “Lake Ultimate,” the 110,000 gallon indoor lake.

    St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Saturday this year. There are many events scheduled around the Grand Rapids area. Including Irish on Ionia which kicks off at 7 am! There is also the Spectrum Health Irish Jig 5K Run and 5K Walk at 9 am. Plus, check with your favorite bar or restaurant, as many have special activities planned.

    Free Day at the Grand Rapids Public Museum

    The GRPM will open their doors free of charge on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. thanks to sponsorship from Kent County Farm Bureau. Visitors will receive free general admission to explore the Museum’s three floors of core exhibits at no cost, and get hands on with agriculture-themed activities from Kent County Farm Bureau and artifacts from the GRPM Collections. The current traveling exhibit Water’s Extreme Journey will be included free of charge for visitors on the Museum’s Free Day! Visitors will become a water droplet as they enter an experiential maze to learn about water conservation. Additional experiences for visitors include the special traveling exhibit Dragons, Unicorns & Mermaids, planetarium shows and the Museum’s 1928 Spillman Carousel – that are available for an additional charge.
