Tradition says you bring in the new year with champagne. This year, we have another idea. Welcome 2016 with Riesling from Crash's Landing!

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Every Friday on 100.5 The River is Purrrfect Friday, where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home.

This week, we're spotlighting Riesling.

Two months ago, Riesling was found near Riverside Park in Grand Rapids. She had been wandering the area for a couple of months. As the weather turned colder, the man who had been keeping an eye on Riesling contacted Crash's Landing to help her find a permanent home.

Riesling was born in late 2010. When she arrived at Crash's Landing she had a long list of problems. She had fleas, an infection and rotting teeth. Crash's Landing treated her immediately and Riesling took all of her health problems in stride.

Riesling is a very social cat and Crash's Landing does not expect her stay to be a long one. She is very popular!

Welcome Riesling into your family!
