As a native Yooper, I've always known that the U.P. isn't all forests and locks and waterfalls, but I've never been able to figure out how to show that to people who haven't experienced it for themselves.

Luckily, my cousin and his wife still reside up there (two doors down from my grandparents, and right down the street from where I grew up). Nikki has taken some amazing photos out of her own front door (and yard) to show how amazing the U.P. can be outside of the woods and the waterfalls.

So sure - there's the Soo Locks, Taquamenon Falls, the forests in all of their glory. But, there's also the smaller things in the smaller towns that get overlooked when you travel to the U.P.
