As we bring in the new year, it's time to make some changes for the better.

It's time to consider adopting a cat.

Meet Barney from Crash's Landing.

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped over 2,500 cats, but there is still work to be done.

Every Friday is Purrrfect Friday on 100.5 The River.  We feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home.  This week we're spotlighting Barney.

In February of 2012 an animal shelter near Lansing rescued Barney from the cold and took him in.

Barney tested positive for FIV. Most shelters do not house cats with FIV, but Crash's Landing does. The shelter near Lansing contacted Crash's Landing and Crash's Landing took Barney in on June 18, 2012.

Barney is a big boy. He is very social and loves attention!

Crash's Landing called him "one of the friendliest cats we took in in 2012". They love him, but they'd love it even more if he could find a new home.

Can you adopt Barney?

Can't adopt, but still want to help?
