It's hard to go anywhere without seeing an ugly Christmas sweater, now ugly Christmas trees are making their mark too.

Montreal is drawing thousands to the city after putting up an ugly Christmas tree.

Should Grand Rapids get its own ugly Christmas tree downtown?

Montreal put the tree up to draw publicity, but it's not exactly what you're thinking. The tree is 85 feet tall and was expected to draw crowds for being taller than the Christmas tree in New York City's Rockefeller Center.

The NYC tree is usually about 75 - 80 feet tall, but this year the Rockefeller Center tree is the second tallest they've ever had at 94 feet tall. So the Montreal tree fell short of its intended goal of drawing crowds for its height, but it is drawing visitors because it's so ugly.

CTV News says the tree is "not only scraggly and lopsided, but it’s decorated with mini red Canadian Tire logos that only add to the tackiness. One woman who came down to see the tree said it’s even uglier than it looks in the photos shared on social media."

Ugly is in the eye of the beholder, but we think Charlie Brown would be proud.
