The Amway Family Fireworks will light up the Grand Rapids skies July 5 at Ah-Nab-Awen Park in downtown Grand Rapids in celebration of Independence Day.

But before that colorful display next Saturday, Re/Max of Grand Rapids' Family Fun Zone from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. EST at Ah-Nab-Awen park.

The plethora of family-fun activities include old-school games, a photo booth and much, much more.

Starting at 5:45 p.m. EST, Re/Max's signature hot air balloon has a tethered visit. As one of the most recognized corporate symbols on the planet, it was first introduced at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta in New Mexico in 1978 and laid the foundation for a Re/Max balloon fleet that now numbers nearly 120.

Get up close and see just how big a 72-foot tall (seven stories) balloon really is! Come join in the fun and frolic of the Family Fun Zone next Saturday, a week from today at the park, which is adjacent to Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum along the west bank of the Grand River and across the way from Grand Rapids Public Museum.

The Amway Family Fireworks' music and entertainment runs in the evening, starting at 6 p.m. EST. The line-up of performers includes:

Also available at Ah-Nab-Awen Park will be food and beverages by Majoor's Concessions and VHF Concessions.

Admission for all Amway Family Fireworks activities and entertainment is free and everything's open to the public.
