Another food recall to let you know about.  This time it's for Uncle Ben's Rice.  The FDA says children in three states had skin reactions and other symptoms after eating the rice.

The recall covers 5 and 25 pound bags of various Uncle Ben's flavored rice, including roasted chicken, garlic and butter, Mexican, saffron, cheese, Spanish and Rice Pilaf.    They've been sold mostly to food establishments but are also available at "warehouse" stores.

Uncle Ben's "ready to eat" rice in boxes, bags or cups sold at grocery stores have NOT been recalled.

The problems are related to an excess of niacin (vitamin B3). The FDA says overexposure to niacin can cause skin reactions and children may be most susceptible.

More information is available from the FDA.
