Seems like these days you hear so much about companies and organizations outsourcing jobs and using non-local workers, it's nice to see West Michigan companies being awarded contracts.  Such is the case at Gerald R. Ford International Airport.

Gerald R. Ford International Airport

This week it was announced that DK Security - based here in Grand Rapids - was awarded the contract for security services at GRR including terminal and gate positions.

Even better news, landing this contract allowed DK Security to hire 20 additional workers from Kent County!

From their press release: “We are honored to have this opportunity to represent Kent County and our hometown airport, and even more pleased that a Kent County-based company is now providing these services,” said DK Security Executive Vice President Kathryn Kendall.  “We look forward to providing hospitality-oriented security services and helping to make the patrons’ experience at the airport friendly and positive.”
