Since the summer vacation and boating season isn't too far off, it's a good time to remember your boating and water safety training.

In fact, it'd be a good idea to make sure your kids are aware of the responsibilities that come along with being on the water.  That's why the "North American Safe Boating Campaign" put together a website designed specially for your kids, called "Sidekicks: Ready, Set, Wear It!"

The Michigan DNR offers two different online boating safety courses; BoatEd.com and BoaterExam.com.

Just bought a new boat?  Congratulations!  Since you're new to the water, you'll want to watch this "Welcome To the Water" from the DNR.

Don't have a boat, but want to rent one during your vacation?  You can!  Here are the state parks that offer boat rentals.

Finally, here's a link to the Michigan Boater Safety Handbook.

Happy Boating!
