Michigan’s Lower Peninsula Hits Lows Of At Least -22 On Monday Morning

Sometimes dressing in layers just isn't enough.

Monday morning, December 16, was a cold one across Michigan as temperatures reached as low as -22.

Some schools cancelled classes, as the cold made icy conditions too difficult for safe travel.

Here's a few of this morning's lows from around West Michigan and the lower peninsula:

• Grand Rapids: 3
• Grayling: -22
• Big Rapids: -6
• Ionia County Airport: -4
• Gaylord: -16
• Lansing: 1
