The trend towards plant-based meat substitutes on restaurant menus continues as IHOP has just added plant-based items from Impossible Foods to their menus.

Of course, the one-time International House of Pancakes is founded on their breakfasts, so Impossible sausage will be on the menu.

In the last several years IHOP has looked to extend their popularity beyond the first meal of the day by highlighting their lunch and dinner menus and particularly thier hamburgers - remember the IHOb (International House of Burgers) stunt? It was pre-pandemic in 2018, so you're forgiven if that one had slipped out of your memory banks. The ploy did its job and increase awareness of IHOP's non-breakfast items delivered the chain a 4x growth in burger sales.

All that to say that Impossible hamburgers will be joining the breakfast sausage on the IHOP menu as well.

While there are several players in the meat alternative space, Impossible has been among the market leaders in landing deals with some of the largest restaurant chains. Most notably is the Impossible Whopper from Burger King. Impossible sausage is on the menu at Starbucks.

The Impossible sausage is available as a side or is the star of the Plant-Based Sausage Power Combo with serves the patties along with egg whites, fruit and multigrain toast or protein pancakes.
