“I Got Lost In The Power Of It.” Says Christina

Singer Christina Aquilera says  she just got lost in the power of the  National Anthem.  That's the explanation she offered after messing up at Sunday's Super Bowl.

“I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of it’s anthem still came through,” Christina said in a statement to the Associated Press following her performance in Arlington, Texas.

Christina omitted the line “O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming,” instead she repeated a previous line of the song singing, “What so proudly we watched at the twilight’s last gleaming.” In the botched line she also sang “watched” instead of “hailed.”  I didn't  notice the missing line.  I thought she was adding a style point to the song.
