Flooding has affected thousands of people across West Michigan.

Some have been displaced from their homes.  Even more are dealing with damaged homes or property.

There are many ways to help.

CONSERVE WATER

One of the easiest ways to help is to continue to conserve water, as is currently being requested by multiple cities in West Michigan.

DONATE

Grand Rapids is accepting donations to help offset costs.  Donations to the city may be made in a variety of ways:

  • Call the Treasurer’s Office at 456-3020.  They will provide you with a credit card form or you may download it here.
  • Checks should be made payable to “GR Treasurer – Flood Relief”.  Mail to the City Treasurer’s Office – 300 Monroe Ave. NW Rm. 220 , Grand Rapids, MI 49503

LEARN HOW TO PROPERLY CLEAN AFTER A FLOOD

The City of Lowell will hold special training sessions for homeowners and volunteers on Saturday to teach proper cleaning methods.

The City of Lowell reports:

  • On Saturday, 9 a.m., at the Lowell First United Methodist Church, there will be special training on how to clean flooded homes that is open to all homeowners affected and all volunteers who will be working in homes.
  • On Saturday, 2 p.m., at the Lowell First United Methodist Church, there will be special training on mold remediation. The training is open to all homeowners affected and all volunteers who will be working in homes.
