With part of town named the "Medical Mile", it's not all that surprising that a new study has found Grand Rapids to be one of the top cities for doctors.

WZZM-13 reports that Medscape has ranked Grand Rapids the No. 11 city for doctors to practice in the U.S.

To determine the ranking, the global medical news organization assessed each area for factors that can cause burnout in doctors, including rates of malpractice filings and medical board actions, income levels, patient volume, and physician density.

Wood TV 8 reports that the study also looked at  each area's crime rates, divorce rates, happiness levels, traffic volumes, and family resources.
