Yesterday, Gas Buddy tweeted that prices were likely to go up this week because of Hurricane Isaac.

When the tropical storm changed its path over the weekend, it was reported that many refineries would likely close their plants out of caution, and that a bunch of oil and natural gas rigs had already been evacuated.  As of Monday morning over 25% of the daily production capacity in the Gulf had been shut down.

Twitter user @RebeccaJarvis said:  Michigan today just now started to jump to $4.09. $3.99 in Indiana, $3.95 in Ohio.
