Fennville Public Schools have returned to normal activity following a lockdown situation that occurred early Friday morning.

Superintendent Dirk Weeldreyer told WZZM-13 that a first grader reported seeing a gun on a school bus, which prompted the lockdown at the elementary, middle, and high schools around 8 a.m.

Michigan State Police and the Allegan County Sheriff's Department searched the bus and all students on it, but no weapons were found. Authorities found the threat to be not credible.

The lockdown situation was lifted around 9 a.m.
