Here at The River we always are looking for things that you and the kids can do locally and inexpensively.  When we find them, not only do we tell you on the radio at 100.5FM but also here on our website.

July 26-28, the City of Hudsonville will be alive with events featuring the best that Hudsonville has to offer.

The main event will be a showing of Cars 2 around 9pm on Friday night in downtown Hudsonville.  It will be broadcast on an 18 foot inflatable movie screen in the parking lot in front of the Secretary of State.  You can bring your own chairs.

Other fun things include the Gemmen’s Annual Tent Sales on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  On Friday, there will be a nature hike held at the Hudsonville Nature Center which will take kids on a journey to learn about butterflies.

Other events include a ghost hunters event, an ice cream contest, bowling specials, free ice cream, sidewalk chalk event, an old fashioned farm day, an outdoor concert, 99 cent kids meals, an "Angry Birds" high score challenge, geo-caching, coffeehouse concerts, a coloring contest and a deluxe pancake & sausage breakfast.
