Coming to an outdoor theater in Grand Rapids this fall...

In a world where humans and dogs are no match for the cuteness of cats.  Where gold is worthless and catnip will buy anything.

It's CatPrize!

OK.  It's not CatPrize, but it is going to be a lot of fun for cat lovers and ArtPrize fans.

The Internet Cat Video Festival is touring the world.  On Friday, September 27 at 8:00pm the tour will stop in Grand Rapids at ArtPrize.  The show is free and will play at Rosa Parks Circle.

ArtPrize.com explains the origins of the festival:

In the summer of 2012, the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis had an idea for a program that would bring online communities together in real life. Part of a slate of innovative public programs called Open Field, they staged the first Internet Cat Video Festival on the lawn next to the museum. It was a smashing success, over 10,000 people attended and the screening gained international media attention.

ArtPrize fans can submit videos of their own cat for consideration at the Grand Rapids showing.  Find out how.

Walker Art Center is also involved with ArtPrize through ArtPrize Pitch Night.

Here's a review of the Internet Cat Video Festival from NY Times.
